Make new friends, but keep the old (reprise)

The only thing better than going to the airport and getting on a plane yourself?

Going to the airport to meet your oldest and dearest friend – the one you missed seeing in San Francisco.

If we’re exhausted, I know Mayberry Mom and family must be utterly wiped out. But what a fabulous weekend! There was pizza…

…and ice cream…

…and drumming.

We were rarely able to capture all five kids within the camera viewfinder, but it happened once…

…or twice.

(See Ollie in the upper right corner?)

It was a weekend full of excitement…

…and occasional relaxation.

It’s visits like this one (and the one two years ago – the kids have grown, but their fashion sense remains the same) that remind me how much I wish we still lived on the same block. MM, thank you once again for making the trip. Be assured that as soon as we feel ready to attempt another road trip, your house will be our first destination.

Looks like you guys had a blast. There’s nothing better than having friends come to visit from far away.

Ollie is getting so big. Dang it, I want mine to stay bitsy for a lot longer than yours did. He’s adorable though.

Oh admit it. You staged all those pictures to hide your utter hatred for each other. I don’t even believe such happiness and joy is even possible.
