At least I know what Ollie’s all about

Our laundry room is directly adjacent to the door leading out to our garage. When I’m folding laundry, I’ll wheel Oliver’s high chair over to the door so that he can keep me in his line of sight and avoid a major meltdown.

I’d noticed that instead of looking over at me, he’d often look up in the direction of the door to the garage, beaming and squealing. I wondered idly what he found so fascinating up there. It reminded me of the dog in “Poltergeist”; were there spirits congregating on my ceiling?

It was only today, after he did it yet again, that I made a point to follow his gaze upward:

Huh. That explains a lot.

Yes, I’m still undecided, much to the apparent derision of my friends (heh) on both sides of the aisle. Hey, I’m not drinking anybody’s Kool-Aid. Especially since in Tuesday night’s debate, Sen. McCain made the same suggestion regarding mortgages that I ripped Sen. Biden for doing in last Thursday night’s debate. I wish I could find this sentiment on a yard sign instead of just a bumper sticker:

Well you know, it is a very lovely light. Babies are strange, neat little people. Mines currently staring at my Starbucks cup. He may be deciding how to steal it, or he may be just pooping, but he’s intently staring at it.

Hilarious. We have the same light fixtures and always have referred to them as boobs. And all my children have always loved looking at them as babies!
