Who needs a stimulus check when you can blog the recession?

Where did your stimulus check go? Did you put it in your savings account? Did it go toward paying down your HELOC or credit card balance? Were you one of the lucky few who managed to find a Wii and spent it on that?

Wherever it went, we can all probably use another influx of cash. But don’t look to the government for it – look to the blogosphere!

August is Blog the Recession Month. Get the details over at Motherhood Uncensored, but all you really need to do is write a post telling your readers about it, and then start clicking! Not only will you be adding to your favorite bloggers’ ad revenue, you could win a whole mess of fabulous prizes.

As for me, I’ll be a link-following fool this month. I’ll click through on Bloglines. I’ll click through on Twitter. I’ll click through on each and every comment left here at mothergoosemouse. I may not always leave fantastically insightful and witty comments in return, but I’ll be lurking in the shadows.

——————————

Falling home values, rising food prices, and let’s not even discuss how much we’re paying for a gallon of gas – it’s enough to induce major stress. A lot of us discuss our personal worries on our blogs, and Families for Depression Awareness wants to know more about how we deal with stress and depression.

They’ve enlisted our help at PBN to get the word out in the blogosphere about a quickie survey they’ve put together:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=7lOLRGqHI1Eb1F_2b3NA1LJg_3d_3d

Seriously, it will take you two minutes at most, and you’ll get a chance to win a $30 Amazon gift card, along with one of our cool PBN canvas bags embroidered by Fadiddle (Blog Green, Recycle Posts!).

Blogging on the Recession…you mean we are in a recession? You mean that falling home prices, falling consumer confidence, rising energy prices, rising unemployment, and stimulus checks that went into thye food and gasoline budget instead of stimulating anything means we are in a recession?

We need a new style of legislators. We need Typical Average Joes who live life like we do without law degrees and financial supporters.
