Super Tuesday – get out there!
I can’t in good conscience let Super Tuesday pass without exhorting everyone in today’s primary/caucus states to get out there and take advantage of your opportunity to speak your mind (or pull that lever, or push that button, or punch that chad).
On the Republican side, there’s a field of four competitors. As Mike Huckabee reminds us at every turn, it’s not a two-man race. Yes, it’s nearly a foregone conclusion that either McCain or Romney will be the nominee, but that’s no reason to suppress your views and choose between them if Huckabee or Paul reflect your priorities better.
On the Democratic side, the field has narrowed to two. And while Clinton and Obama may seem quite similar in their policy stances, don’t just flip a coin. Do your homework and go with the one who better represents your priorities.
And if you’re in a state where you can vote in either primary, regardless of your party of registration, look across the board. It’s not party disloyalty; it’s due diligence. Be sure you understand why you’re voting as you are – not just because some pundit or radio talk show host or other has unfavorably painted the other party (or its candidates). Own your opinions.
Me, I’m staying at home tonight with the kids so that Kyle can go caucus. He’s supporting Ron Paul, against all odds. And while I don’t agree with him, I support him and admire him for voicing his opinion. That’s how change starts.

Is it bad that I’m hoping the Super Tuesday votes are split and the nominee isn’t clear? BECAUSE THEN I GET TO VOTE for the nominee.
There is a benefit to living in the 2nd most populous state, after all…um, maybe.

Thought this column in the NYT illustrated clearly the one issue that Clinton and Obama vary on the most, universal health care — and why Clinton comes out on top.
And here’s a collection of articles on Obama that put a dent in his “great reformer” title… interesting reading, even if you’ve already pulled the lever today.

He is awfully handsome.

Yea, I wish I could vote today. Alas, I live in Texas.

MGM you look younger after giving birth – how did you do that? Seriously though, he is absolutely delicious looking. Oh no, he’s making me want another one.
I wish I could vote in your election and apparently 15% of polled Canadians wish the same. We watch the elections closely because one must always know what the neighbours are up to!

Oh my he is cute. I voted for the first time in a voting booth. It was uneventful and I didn’t feel empowered or anything. It was boring to say the least.

I an totally see Kyle workin’ the caucus! If we see a surge by Ron Paul in your state … I’ll know why.
DARLING picture. Do they look alike or am I imagining that?
I think CommentLuv is cool — but it really bugs me that the opt-in text contains TWO grammatical errors. Three if you count the missing period at the end.
