Anything you can do, I can do better

As I returned this afternoon from picking up CJ, I was surprised to pass Kyle and Tacy a few blocks away from our house. I was even more surprised to see that Tacy was riding her bike – without training wheels.

After we came inside, she called my parents to tell them of her successes. I overheard this gem:

“Well, Jo is a five year-old and she can ride without training wheels, and I’m a five year-old, so I should be able to ride without training wheels too.”

Not only do we have evidence of positive peer pressure, but it’s being exerted from over a thousand miles away.

(Just leave High School Musical out of it, please Jo?)

Sounds like a touch of competition. AACK! Don’t let anyone know! Kids?! Naturally competing?!

I love “rites of passage” photos like this. Too sweet.

    Woohoo! Go Tacy!

Jo’s secret, by the way, is that she rides the tiniest bike you’ve ever seen.

Peer pressure has been working for me – I’ll be damned if B isn’t eating all sorts of new foods because her buddy eats them. Let’s hear it for peer pressure!

of course, the flip side of this is when one of her friends is 14 and dating boys, so she should be able to date boys too. :-P

That is so sweet! When we moved into our new house last year Abby immediately learned to ride her bike so she could keep up with the big kid neighbors.
