The baffling world of suburbia

Two tween girls just rang my doorbell and handed me two tiny flowers.

The flowers didn’t come from my yard. I didn’t recognize the girls. And they barely said a word; mostly, they just giggled.

Would anyone else be a bit bewildered by this random act? Or am I destined to become one of those misanthropic old biddies who berates the mothers of crying children?

Sounds like something I would have done. No – YOU do it. YOU. I dare you. Okay – BOTH of us!
Yeah, random act of weirdness. I guess you just be glad it was a KIND act of random weirdness. :)

As an old biddie, I think that is cute. It was a random act of kindness!

I probably wouldn’t even have answered the door! I am paranoid that way… Cute though!

    Odd, but charming.

I’m like you. I’d be trying to figure out their ulterior motive.

But maybe it really was just a random act of kindness (though the giggling makes it sound like a herb-induced act of kindness).

Maybe they caught a glimpse of shirtless Kyle getting ready for his triathlon and the flowers were really meant for him? :)

Oh my God we used to do that on a dare – pick flowers and give them to someone in the neighborhood. Flashback!

Sounds like a nice gesture whatever the motives. You hardly sound like an misanthropic old biddie… just suspicious like me.

Have you checked your house for spray paint or toilet paper? Just saying, you never know.

    Bwahahahaha!

I’m baffled, but cracking up at the same time.

It would be funny if you did know, at least, where they lived so you could return the favor. Except hand them a dustmop and a can of toilet cleaner with a fellow mom by your side giggling with you.
