I clean out the old one, ditching all but the essential essentials. I fill the new bag. A year goes by. More things become essentials. Another year; more essentials. Finally, I can't lift the damn thing. So off to Bloomies for a new bag and a new cycle. I suspect life would be easier if I just gained more upper body strength. Cheers!
