She called me Bruce*

We’re putting Tacy to bed. Kyle points out how he has fixed Tacy’s doll table (which she broke while using it as a step stool and then hid it in her closet).

Me: Don’t step on it again, or I’ll step on you.

T: Okay, next time I step on it, you can step on me.

Me (teasing): Don’t step on it at all, you little shit.

T: Don’t say shit! That’s not funny!

K: Okay, Sam Houston Institute of Technology.

Me: That’s where Daddy went to school. Where he piled it higher and deeper.

K: Exactly.

Me (to Kyle): All right, Sam.

T (to me): I think I’ll call you Bruce.

*First one to name the artist, I’ll send you a mix CD.

Three cheers for Lawyer Mama who won the CD!

And I have no idea where the child got “Bruce.”  I own “Jessie’s Girl”, but that’s it for Rick.  And I don’t think there’s a single song of Bruce’s anywhere in this house.

    Rick Springfield had a song out years ago about how everyone called him Bruce. It was reference to people confusing him with Springsteen.

    Yes, ELO! But I never knew what they were saying at the end!!!! perhaps it WAS Bruce!! Why not? Would have made as much sense as most of their stuff. I mean “She’s sweet on Wagner….” what was THAT all about. :-D
