Did I introduce myself already? I can’t remember.
I can handle the nausea. I can handle the cravings and aversions. I can even handle nearly blacking out in my driveway in front of a half-dozen kids as I recalled that I had forgotten to eat anything since breakfast.
But the pregnancy-induced flakiness? That’s where I draw the line.
I’m no flake. In fact, my memory is far too good for my own good. Sometimes it would be rather convenient to forget a thing or two, especially from the high school and college years.
But no. I can still remember the phone number of my very first best friend – the one who later earned a spot on my “Top 3 Mean Girls” list, the exact words I wrote in some very embarrassing notes to boys. and a ridiculous number of military acronyms. I just try not to think about these sorts of things, as they are now OBE.
Oops, there I go again with the acronyms.

Since I’m not sure that all of the information I’ve shared lately counts as a ten-second introduction (more like a ten-hour introduction), I’ll stick to the letter of the law and give a few official tidbits.
- I’m not shy, but I’m not an extrovert. People wear me out.
- I often use some fairly ridiculous phrases in conversation. Especially when speaking to my children.
- I don’t like BBQ. I don’t care how delicious it is; keep it away from me.
- And the baby in my tummy is a girl.

Congratulations on another girl! I always wanted sisters (but only have a brother). I imagined some secret sisters bond that I could have had if only my parents would have had another baby.
