Underwater handstands to be performed at the W Hotel
It’s that time again. Don’t let it sneak up on you!
The pre-BlogHer ‘07 buzz has started up in full force. Venue and hotel choices have been announced. Start saving your pennies now!
Last year was a fantastic time, and with nearly a thousand attendees anticipated, this year promises to be even better!
I know, I know. Money’s always a factor. That’s why it’s great that we have five months to prepare. Plus, the organizers have reserved a block of beds at a local hostel. Don’t turn up your nose; it’ll be like a college dorm!
Perhaps even more intimidating than money is the irrational concern: Will anyone talk to me?
A more accurate question might be: Will people leave me alone long enough that I can go to the bathroom?
Sure, women have their cliques and their spats, but from what I could see, these were few and far between at BlogHer ‘06. The vast majority of us were drinking wine out of 12 oz. plastic cups, licking and getting licked, posing with the red stapler, and fastening Izzy’s fanny pack around everything and everyone in sight. In other words, we had a fantastic time.
And it wasn’t just about socializing and networking. There was no shortage of tempting workshops and forums with a lot to be learned and discussed. And even if you are too hungover to attend happen to miss one or two, there will be livebloggers covering every session and posting updates on the BlogHer site.
So please consider it. If only to see me do underwater handstands. You won’t be disappointed.

I will be one month post-partum.
And sad to miss the opportunity.
As a new blogger, I would love to go, meet people, and learn. You gave a great summary, though. If you recap again, maybe it will be like I was almost there…transported away from my sure-to-be-very sore nipples.

I’ll be two months postpartum, and will be there with newborn in sling. Since it’s closer this year, we’re bringing the whole family along – Aaron and Cordy will go sightseeing during the day. I had so much fun last year that there’s no way I’d miss this year.

I was just checking out the hotels yesterday. Oy! I should have started saving last year. But the hotels look really nice!

So swanky! I’m there…

Bah! I have been dying to go to BlogHer for a while now, and this was going to be my year. Then I had to go and get knocked up. Three weeks ’till my due date and three thousand miles from my doctor do not a good time make.
2008 – Here I come!

I’m still planning to stay at the Holiday Inn. I’m just nowhere near swanky enough for the W hotel. Did you know there’s a bar there owned by Rande Gerber, husband of Cindy Crawford? eeep!

You know I’ll be there. You can find me at the W. I wonder if they have pool floats with cup holders?

You know we are going to record those handstands on video and have them all over YouTube.

I bought my plane tickets last night and got my hotel reservations (at the W) today. Eeeeccckkkk, I’m super excited.

I am SO there. And the handstands in the pool….I don’t even need a bathing suit! HA! http://www.flickr.com/photos/izzywigs/203644035/
W and Chicago…look out!

If you’re seriously going to do the handstand, I’ll seriously go. And, yeah, I was going to go anyway, but this makes it more fun. Like it’s all hinging on you and that handstand thing. The success or failure on Blogher is resting on your handstand. So you’d better get handstanding, because I’d hate to cancel my W reservations.

I can’t wait!!!!

I really want to be there, but I’m not sure I can juggle the competing travel plans right now. Sigh. I will miss you all!

Hey! I am really good at underwater handstands! But I am all out of hall passes for girls trips. Maybe next year.

Sounds tempting. I was sorry to miss last year but this year may be doable. All of the posts about it are getting me excited. But sadly I’m probably one of those wallflowers who would be terrified that no one would talk to me.

I discovered I wanted to go last year, just when it was too late! I’m hoping not to miss it this year.

Money is a huge issue for me this year, unfortunately, but I surely do want to go. Maybe the hostel . . .

Oh, so who died and made you blogHer pr flak? I hope you’re getting a commission from the W…

If I go, I’ll have to bring my kids, and I’m just not sure it will be the same… Still deciding!!
March 2nd, 2007 at 3:02 pm
I want to go, but I’m nervous. I don’t know any bloggers for real yet, and am a little shy. I’m still thinking about it.
March 2nd, 2007 at 11:14 pm
Gah. I guess I better get going on this. Don’t be shy Tori! Everyone worried about that and I bet almost 100% of people would say it wasn’t an issue. Come one come all! It is going to be hot in Chicago in July….. and humid…
