Win! Free! Sex!

A fellow engineering student at Pitt had those words written across one of her notebooks.  When I asked why, she said that those were the three words that attracted the most attention when used in advertising.  I don’t know if Mom-101 or Girl Con Queso can corroborate, but I’ll defer to their expertise.

Nonetheless, those words are definitely eye-catching.  More eye-catching, I suppose, than:

LISTEN

TO

ME

ON

blog radio

That’s right, the inimitable Kristen has invited Catherine – Her Bad Mother – and me to debate the merits of feminism.  We’ve engaged in considerable discussion on both of our sites, but we’ve not yet had the opportunity to banter in real time.  So if you read my posts about why I don’t call myself a feminist and you wanted to tell me I was full of shit – well, here’s your golden opportunity!

Call in tonight around 10:40pm EST/7:40pm PST.  Before I put another notch in my lipstick case, I invite you to hit me with your best shot.

What’s free? Do I win anything? Are you going to be talking about sex? Huh?

Hey, good luck, you sure did draw a crowd with your posts on the subject. I have to think that feminism draws nearly as much attention–and heated debate–than those other 3 words. Good luck. We’ll be listening.

  11. mrsfortune Says:

    Wait, what did I win?

I’m so bummed I missed the show, I had no idea! I’ll definitely listen next week but … oh wait, there’s an archives! Yay.

When people start talking about feminism, they usually end up hammering the small percentage of women who confuse equal rights and opportunities with being like a man. Maybe that’s what feminism’s critics (weak and frightened men and Phyllis Schlafley’s fan club) like to use as a distraction from the central point which is to offer the same things to everyone…regardless. And the whole thing makes my stomach churn.
