Let’s get organized, organized…I wanna get organized…
…Let’s get ourselves organized…let me hear your fingers type…
BlogHer is only 45 days away. I’d like to propose a few ideas to help us get our acts together beforehand so that none of us are wandering around blindly once we arrive (or worse, hiding in our hotel rooms because we don’t know where our friends are).
1. An e-mail distribution list (so that we can chat about who’s bringing the vodka and who’s bringing the Merlot).
2. A spreadsheet of roommates (if applicable), arrival/departure days/times and cell phone numbers (if you feel like sharing such specifics). Maybe even our (gasp!) REAL NAMES.
Obviously all information would be held in strictest confidence and security. The government used to trust me with its secrets; why shouldn’t you?

The first order of business on the e-mail distribution list will be to determine a meeting place/time on Thursday for those of us who are coming in a day early.

What a great idea! My plane lands Thursday night around 7:30 so I’m sure that means I’ll get to the hotel around 9:00 by the time I get my suitcase and find the shuttle bus. It would be great to be able to find everybody!

Aw, man! I was totally interested in coming to BlogHer and then I procrastinated. I didn’t know enough bloggers yet, and wasn’t sure who was going. And then BAM! The conference Day 1 sold out. The thing I read said that there was still room at the cokctail party at the pool afterwards, though. I was like, “WTF?? I’m not flying out to the west coast just for the COCKTAIL PARTY!” Oh well. Hope it’s tons of fun and hope you post lots of pictures when it’s over!

Thanks for all the responses so far! I’ll wait until end of day and send out the first e-mail tonight (with first names, roommates’ first names, blog URLs, arrival/departure days only). Of course, we’ll keep adding to the list.

Actually, I’ll be drowning my sorrow in booze since I’m not going. But I’m thrilled for all of you that are and I expect juicy stories when you get back.

I vote the meeting place should be a bar or some such location. I’d like to be on the distribution list and I”ll share my travel info with you as soon as I get it, but I plan to be in Thursday afternoon also.

I’m not going to be able to go to BlogHer (not that anyone has expressed a wish that I do so) (pout), but I will be planning and saving for next year!
I think your ideas are good ones though, as I would be hiding in my hotel room or wandering around with a blank look on my face, trying to recognize people by what I think they would look like based on how well they write (you are 5′10” and a super model, right?).
